Experience everyday life in Costa Rica

Simplified Living, Children Free, Capturing Moments in Time

We want to host with families on a similar path of questioning, pondering, exploration. Families who also feel that the current ways of life aren’t quite it.

We know it’s not an easy thing to do, to take a massive leap into the unknown like this!

We made a lot of mistakes getting here and we sacrificed a lot. Perhaps we could alleviate a lot the errors, confusions, and time lost for families in a similar phase of exploration. A simple way to explore what it’s like living the day to day family life in a peaceful and rural Costa Rica town with ease of process.

You’ll be invited to join in parts of our rhythm.

Worldschooling, uncschooling, alternative ed options galore.

We can share some meals, enjoy intentional time together and go on adventures.

You can also Live your own experience as much as you prefer.

It’s a wonderful space for dreaming, finding answers, for re-imagining the future.

Jungle paths behind our house eager to be explored, inviting us back to our favourite spots for our almost daily explorations. Moments in nature a way of life rather than another item to check off the list.

There’s no more going through the motions here. No more stuff on the schedule that doesn’t feel like Life.

There’s just us.
Deepening bonds.
Moments in time no longer rushed but felt.

Your Stay

Less of a vacation and more of an intentional time away. Our experience revealed to us that it took longer than anticipated to settle, to recalibrate to the slow pace here, to have space for ideas and clarity.

It takes time to detox from screens. To find more presence. To form new habits and ways of being. For intentions that pulled us to be actualized.

For this reason, we suggest at least a month so you can get the most out of your stay. However, you can stay for a week or longer.

  • I will find you accommodations that fit your families needs, preferences and budget, cheaper than airbnb options.

Options vary from a simple 1 bedroom suite to a larger home with a pool. You can expect $500-2000 per month.

  • I can support you with finding aligned educational experiences for your kids, either homeschool options or enrolling as a guest for a month in a local school.

The options are fruitful and were one of the major pulls of this place in the world. My kids go 3 times a week to a small Waldorf school here. It’s got homeschool vibes and the kids never wear shoes. One day Rosie came home from school with green hair and no one said a thing to me. This is the day I knew we chose the right place.

There are many other options with a small commute.

I can also offer support with worldschooling. Education and parenting has never been easier than when we’ve had enrichment and opportunity everywhere we look. Some days we investigate crabs. Some days I support the children in their projects. All born from our environment. At the time of writing this my son is working on his juicing business and my daughter is starting a garden!

Your children will be welcome to join us for 2 sessions per week
(1 homeschool gathering and 1 pizza and projector night).

  • After chatting with you and getting to know who you all are and what your intentions are, I will craft an itinerary for you, however structured you prefer!

It all depends on your preferences and will make more sense after we begin to chat.

  • You’re invited to join us in:

    • Weekly Idea Incubator Gatherings

    • Weekly Pizza + Projector Nights

    • Weekly Farmers Market Visits

    • Weekly Homeschool Gathering (Makerspace Magic)

    • Weekend Adventures and Beach Visits

    • Almost Daily Jungle Walks

    • Potlucks

  • $1000 USD for a month for a family

Includes planning, hosting, support, 2x a week childcare.

We’re starting to create a rhythm that allows for more space for what really matters.

We go for daily walks in the jungle, the children make up some sort of imaginary game and everyone explores species when they arise.

We often go to our favourite beaches on the weekends and spend the day collecting treasures, foraging for coconuts, trapping crabs or playing in the waves.

We like to shop at the local market once a week for produce and homemade and handmade treasures. Jungle Pops are a crowd fav and I never miss a stop at Miguel’s for some herbs.

Sometimes we go exploring a waterfall or drive to a distant spot for a meal we’ve been dreaming of for weeks. We love going for sushi in a beach town 20 minutes away.

I ensure we stop at the bakery at least twice a week.

We have a bit of a Makerspace in progress with craft supplies, tools, art materials and collected treasures and the children spend hours up there.

There’s a pool for after hike dips but the climate is really so wonderful up here, the dips are rarely needed and more just for fun.

The kids attend a local school with barefoot homeschool vibes. But mostly we are doing our own thing! We are slowly starting to grow a homeschool community and meet up a time or two each week.

We love to host other visionaries to discuss ideas and support each others dreams.

We can offer a place of inspiration, a slower pace, talks about life and a space where kids can be free.

What if Together meant Simpler? Richer?

We often allow the Flow of Life to guide us. We don’t know the Answer to all of our questions but what I know for sure is, we are here now and we are starting to get closer to knowing.

I am certain it has to do with community.

So let’s practice. Learn to relate. Share life with someone. Take turns. Ease the load. Support each other’s ideas. Enrich each other’s lives. Allow parenting and day to day to feel fun, easeful, enriching. Explore life’s questions. Share stories. Live.
